That’s nightmare-level stuff for the weekend DIYer. But it was no problem for YouTuber Matthew Cremona. See for yourself in the above video.
This woodworker’s channel is filled with those kinds of heroics. The guy loves to start his projects in the forest by harvesting trees and cutting up the logs himself.
“Arg, I’m such a joke,” you might be telling yourself. “I have to buy my lumber from a store.”
Alas, never fear. Here are a few reasons why you shouldn’t judge your own efforts against this story stick:
A: Cremona does woodworking full-time, according to an interview on Modern Day Lumberjack.
B: Harvesting logs is critical to his enjoyment of woodworking. That task is not a chore, like it might be for many of us.
C: You are good enough, you are smart enough, and, gosh darn it, people like you.
Regardless, one takeaway from this is that the process doesn’t look as hard as you might imagine. It’s mostly just a lot of work. That means there’s lots of opportunity to screw up, of course, but still! Maybe someday, you’ll build your own wood floor, too.
I’m not going to. But you can.
