On Tuesday, ISU Family Consumer Sciences and assistant director of alumni engagement Juliana Nelson are organizing a virtual event called, “Cook with a Redbird chef: Virtual winter edition.”
The event showcases graduate nutrition and dietetics students, and it allows them to demonstrate their talents to our ISU alumni and students.
Graduate student in the combined masters and dietetic internship program Hannah Young will be teaching attendees how to make zoodles with avocado pesto. Young said that she chose this project because she is passionate about community nutrition.
Additionally, Young wanted to create a cooking demonstration for alumni and students that would allow her to give back to the community in a positive and safe way.
Students will gain cooking experience, but they may also acquire a new hobby from trying this out.
After registration, attendees will be sent a grocery list, recipe and video tutorial on how to make this dish.
Call the Alumni Engagement with any questions at (309)438-2586 and sign up until the end of the day Tuesday online at the ISU alumni page.
