MCHD reports 44 new COVID-19 cases, 24 hospitalized

In the Bone Student Center is a container filled with test tubes used for COVID-19 testing. The Bone was one of the on-campus testing sites available to all students before it was moved to the mobile home in The Alamo II parking lot.
McLean County Health Department is reporting 44 new COVID-19 cases since Friday. The total number of probable and confirmed cases is 14,670.
There are currently 183 residents isolating at home and 14,290 individuals that have recovered.
There are 24 residents of McLean County being hospitalized due to COVID-19. There are 88% of intensive care unit beds in use and 89% of total beds in use in the McLean County hospitals.
McLean has had 173 deaths related to COVID-19.
With more than 251,600 tests being resulted, the cumulative positivity rate is now at 5.8% and the seven-day positivity rate is at 1.9% through Sunday.
An estimated 41,081 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed in McLean County.
