Redbird Football plays their last scrimmage of the fall season Saturday morning. The Redbirds will begin competing in February.

Over a year removed from their last game, Illinois State football opens up practice for the start of the 2021 season.

Practices begin with helmet only practices per the NCAA acclimation period. Next week full pads will be used. The Redbirds open their season on Feb. 20 against Missouri State.

The Redbirds will hit the road to take on the Bears before heading home to take on South Dakota on the 27. Then the Redbirds head on the road for back to back weeks. First on March 6 to take on Northern Iowa in the UNI-Dome. Then ISU takes on North Dakota for the first time since the Redbirds fell 9-3 in the FCS Semi-finals last season on the 13.

On March 20 ISU heads back home to take on Western Illinois. On the 27 the Redbirds hit the road for the last time traveling to take on South Dakota State.

After Indiana State opted out, the Redbirds’ April 3 road match-up with the Sycamores was replaced with a home game against Southern Illinois. Finally the Redbirds wrap up on April 10 at home against North Dakota.
