Por el huracán Eta, presidente Bukele ordena evacuaciones preventivas en El Salvador

(CNN Español) –– Más de medio millón de personas en El Salvador están en riesgo de sufrir inundaciones y deslizamientos por lluvias del huracán Eta. Así lo indicó el informe del gobierno que presentó este martes el presidente Nayib Bukele en cadena nacional.

Las autoridades salvadoreñas han identificado 2.837 lugares vulnerables en el país que podrían sufrir estos fenómenos por las lluvias asociadas al huracán Eta, que afecta a Centroamérica.

Bukele ordenó a su gabinete de emergencia, presente durante la cadena nacional, que realice evacuaciones preventivas en las zonas de alto riesgo. En ese sentido, también pidió que traslade a las familias a los 1.152 albergues habilitados en todo el país.

«Un llamado a la población a seguir las medidas. Si tiene que ser evacuado, vamos a cuidar sus pertenencias, no se preocupe», aseguró el mandatario.

Bukele también ordenó al ministro de Hacienda de El Salvador transferir US$ 75 millones a los 262 gobiernos locales para que puedan invertirlos en sus municipios. Dicho dinero forma parte de un préstamo del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo.

El Salvador está en alerta roja por el huracán Eta. Por eso, Bukele ordenó hasta nuevo aviso la suspensión de actividades académicas, de la pesca deportiva y artesanal. También el cierre de parques, museos y espacios culturales.
