The Town of Normal issued a snow parking ban that will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday. The ban includes cars being moved off of streets to allow snow plow crews to clear streets and parking areas.
The Town of Normal announced Tuesday afternoon that the snow parking ban that went into effect at 7 a.m. Monday will be extended until 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The ban is in effect on all streets in Normal and no parked cars are permitted on any streets. The police department may issue tickets to vehicles parked on the street.
Cars must be moved into a driveway, garage or parking lot. Residents who do not have a garage or driveway may park their cars for free in the parking lots of the town’s parks. This includes, but is not limited to, Anderson, Fairview and Underwood.
The ban is activated to allow snowplow crews to clear the entire street and any parking areas. The town cautions that the public stay at least 100 feet behind operating salt vehicles when approaching them.
