JOPLIN, Mo. – Due to travel restrictions and fear over the coronavirus, a lot of people are changing their vacation and travel plans.

Local travel agent Cindy Branner of Branner Travel says all of her clients have cancelled their trips, some looking to rebook for later in the year, but others too afraid to book anything right now.

She says she specializes in booking cruise vacations for people, but the cruise ships are continuously cancelling trips. So, she has no business coming in right now.

“I do a lot of destinations like going to Mexico, going to the Caribbean, mostly cruises and tours, European bus tours, I don’t think they’re going to go at all this summer.”

She says people are so scared and unsure of when everything will go back to normal that she has only a few trips booked for people in November and December.

“So, this is not my sole source of income if it was idk what I’d be doing right now, I have pity for all the travel agents out there right now because nobody is calling.”

Branner added that she is fearful that once things are back to normal, travel destinations will not be as appealing to customers.
