In mid-March, homes across the U.S. started receiving invitations to complete the 2020 Census. People can fill it out online (https://2020census.gov/), over the phone or by mail.
So why is Census Day on April 1st? April 1 is a key reference date for the 2020 Census. When completing the census, you will include everyone living in your home on April 1, 2020. You can choose to respond before or after April 1.
